The Center for Youth Civic Leadership and Environmental Studies (CYCLES) is a dynamic and impactful Youth-Led and Youth focused non-profit organization dedicated to empowering and inspiring the next generation of young people to become active citizens influencing change through civic action for a Just and equitable society for all. Established in 2019, CYCLES has been at the forefront of fostering youth –led civic action to address social inequalities through advancing climate and environmental justice, promoting participatory democracy, addressing economic empowerment among young people and their communities in Liberia. We seek to inspire, empower and equipped young people with the knowledge, skills, and passion to drive positive change in shaping their communities for a just, sustainable and equitable future for all.” The World continue to grapple with the adverse effects of climate change, of which Liberia  is of no exception, with its high vulnerability to environmental instability due to extreme poverty and high dependence on ‘climate sensitive’ sectors such as agriculture, forestry, fisheries, energy and mining, which further increases inequality such as increase in exposure to climate change risk, increase in susceptibility due to the inability of affected communities to cope with and recover from damage cause by climate change that affects Children, young people, women and marginalized groups. CYCLES is empowering Children, young people, Women and their communities to organize, mobilize and engage power structures to take concrete actions for climate, environmental and social justices
